"This is just me getting back to my DIY FTW old school self just creating shit and releasing it cuz it was there and I could instead of figuring out how to market it, what audience would more likely enjoy it, what to label it so it'd be easier recognised by the people who it could be marketed to or getting the cover art right or whatever else thats slowing me down in releasing "My Vampire Bite" when I shouldn't be worrying about that stuff, since I'm not a record company and fuck the record industry.

I'm just your average run of the mill self-indulgent douchebag making music today. Which pretty much describes anyone making music since it's not exactly a noble act of kindness or greatness. You're not saving the worlds problems you're just creating a bunch of noise that someone somewhere enjoys. So yeah... fuck people who make music too.

Anyway, that out of the way, this album basically spawned out of someone listening to some recent songs I was working on that were kind of industrial dance meets acoustic guitar wackiness and said something along the lines of me wanting more and more to become Beck and I was like, well, if I reeeeallllllllllyyy wanted to be Beck, I'd have spanglish all over my songs --- like this! --- and sat down and created what would become "Absent of Damage (Caliente!)" but it really didn't sound anything like what I was creating and more like all the freak folk, noise and/or whatever else I was listening to at the time.

Turns out I enjoyed doing that more than what I was actually working on and since it's not like I'm on a deadline or NEED to be doing anything with my music, since I don't have a record company on my back, I decided that that was what I needed to be doing instead. So I started making songs in a similar vein, basically just creating a bunch of noise for the fun of it until I was like, you know what? I've got enough for an album. Then I was trying to figure out what to call it and it had a working title which was far too pretentious, so I found an anagram in there and it became Fade Girl Hips (Know You're SOL) so I was just trying to figure out what that meant and ended up writing a song to go along with that title.

Actually the last five songs I created for this album were created after I got a title and they were tailored around that. Sort of but not really, the only thing completely correct about that sentence is that they were created after I got the album title. So, anyway, most of the album is just like a less industrial, more acoustic version of Ascension into Off White Everything in that I made a bunch of noise and randomly layed down vocals all improvisational like, then pasted said vocals together and looped them, trying to make sense out of them which wasn't so easy, since half of it was spanish and my spanish is rough, so yeah. Despite the fact that most of the vocals are just a part of the sound for the most part, I tried to reverse some of it, just so people couldn't figure it out, because what I said, after thinking about it was either too non-sensical or not something that I wanted someone to attempt to make sense out of.

Although, people claim to hear messages in backwards lyrics, so people are going to hear what they're going to hear regardless of whether it's there or not. So, uh, hey wacko, don't try to kill yourself because you think the song told you to or something. Hopefully it just tells you to lick a lollipop, while slapping your face and skipping around in a pair of pre-wrecked $100 abercrombie pants that you didn't previously own before listening to the song, ya wacko.

Other notes: Toxic Love was originally recorded as an acoustic version of one of those songs thats all angsty with one person singing and another person screaming but I thought the finished product was horrible and cheesy and needed to be destroyed, so I raised the pitch on one set of vocals and lowered the pitch on the other set, slowed it all down and randomly delayed and looped it. So, yeah, it wasn't originally supposed to be that creepy. But as creepy as it is, it's 10000 times more awesome than the cheesy mess it originally turned out to be.

Creepy > Cheesy.

PS: if you don't unexplainably laugh without knowing why at least once by, let's say, the end of Stay in the Palacios, you're probably listening to the album wrong."^^xsd:string
