The music that is popular today is only popular because it is being marketed. When the marketing stops, so do the sales. Unlike earlier times when The Dark side of the moon was on the Billboard top 200 for something like 10 years, nothing, I repeat nothing released from the last 10 years will be even remotely popular in another 5 years. There are no classic albums anymore - not in the way it was through the 80's. There is just too much good music being released for free now, and even more crazy bad stuff. I put out Contra Mantra with the idea that I had recorded an exceptional album. Well, I still think so, but no one else does. If you listen and like it, please drop me a word of encouragement, because that is all I'm getting out of this - no false hopes that this will do anything. If someone is suprised by the music - It makes my day, kinda like a nice smile from a pretty face.</p>
<p>I recorded Contra Mantra as an old retired musician who still enjoys writing music, I write the kind of music I would want to listen to. If you like listening to it great, Ive just saved you 15 bucks. It is my gift to a world that is slowly killing off the music that I love. - Its not over until this fat man stops singing....</p>
