"En Busca Del Pasto came into being as a project for musical improvisation, although at present their production incorporates a relevant visual hemisphere. It is, therefore, a musical and visual project.

En Busca Del Pasto offers live performance, and it is these live shows that matter (records and recordings are to be considered mere samples). Musicians arrange images beforehand to be projected on stage. These images stand for particular concepts that give the visual hemisphere its meaning. But images are only the context in which music comes to life every time. We say that it lives: it flows spontaneously, responding to each stone it comes across, to each sensation it perceives. Each organ (each musician) responds with a beat, a note, a word, or with his silence… improvising, it must be noted.

So we have two sides, music and image. Both realities appear before the audience with equal intensity, exchanging and combining their meanings - that is what makes the piece: its unity. And in this unity we must look for the piece's real meaning.

Depicting existence requires the use of contrasts: subject and background, the self and the world. The living in its context. This is what En Busca Del Pasto tries to represent. On stage, a cold surface is displayed: video, the impassive image, created beforehand, removed from all interaction, unaltered flux (like the world); and on it, the musicians, alive, with no music stand, with no instruction book, drops of moisture on the stage, reacting to the image, subjugated but free… Contradictory, that's the point.

The quest doesn't reach a conclusion, our experiences aren't exhausted in a final interpretation of what has been lived. This is why the search never ends. The pasture is never found. It is the searching that counts.

Text extracted from "Buscando En Busca Del Pasto" (PDF)"^^xsd:string
