There are no keyboards or synthesizers.<br /> </p> <p>Some examples:<br /> <br /> The percussive sounds (e.g. <em>Spirit Jewel Part I</em> and <em>Amethyst</em>) were created by forcing clipping by manipulating amplitudes and shaping loops. Generally, clipping is anathema to sound production. In this case it's intentional. Another example is the seeming chord progressions (e.g. <em>Mother of Pearl</em> and <em>The Opal and the Moonstone</em>) that provide the only semi-melodic tones you'll find.
