"Ristikiehtova (A.K.A Kontrakiehtova) is a solo project concerning itself with esoteric kinds of aesthetics, tongue-in-cheek mysticism and combining and unifying both emotional and logical opposites. Each release is quite different from the last - whatever is necessary to bring forth the intented idea and smack the listener to the back of the head with it (among other, more subtle things). In the end, I doubt you'll ever be able to relax while listening to an album under the name of Ristikiehtova.<br />

The project's name is in finnish and means at least three different things. One of them portrays the strange, timeless fascination humankind has had and still has with different kinds of symbols, up to them acquiring a whole-culture-permeating religious charge. One of them is of the life's difficulties' cathartic values. One of them is self-ironic, signifying the essentiality of wholeness: any certain role grows tiresome and perditious if continuing too long.<br />
<br />
The essence of Ristikiehtova slowly formed during the years of 2005 and 2006, the first manifestations being nothing more but misguided attempts at creating different experimental moods. Fortunately everything compiled and created from those days on has been approached differently, in an overall more succesful fashion. The genre at this point (at least in the yet unreleased works) should be called "eclectic new age horror music". Sounds oxymoronic? You should know by now."^^xsd:string
