"Pompey is a young man making noisy, polyrhythmic pop and sounds,<br />linked in ways to environmental sounds, primitive music, chamber pop,<br />'studio'- as-instrument, etc. He has lived in Melbourne, Australia all his life,<br />and has slowly built a home studio of mostly antiqued and semifunctioning<br />equipment running into a computer.<br />He has two releases ‘under his belt’, both on Pocketclock, ‘Pompey by the<br />ring of rocks’ (2005), a single 18 minute track made for listening to while<br />cooking a meal or driving home, and ‘Pompey vs Vesuvius’ (2005), ostensibly<br />an EP (though it runs 40 minutes) culled or reshaped from a bigger,<br />more ridiculous idea for a record made over a period of about one and a<br />half years.<br />Pompey also has an awkward production hand and has helped out on<br />records by the likes of local groups Lakes, Oh! Belgium, Talkshow Boy,<br />Drama for Yamaha & Young Love."^^xsd:string
