"If ever there was a band name John Peel enjoyed saying on air, it was this one: F**k. Formed in Oakland, California, in 1993, F**k's pretty music belied the harshness of their name. Formed while friends Timmy Prudhomme (vocals), Kyle Statham (violin, guitar), Ted Ellison (bass, piano) and Jeff Soule (drums) were detained in a police holding cell (a likely story), their first single 'Monkey Beauty Shotgun' (1994) showcased the band's gentle, whispery, understated style. Their first album 'Pretty-Slow' (1996) was followed by 'Pardon My French' (1997), 'Conduct' (1998), 'Cupid's Cactus' (2001) and 'These Are Not My Bongos' (2003), after which the band split into solo projects."^^xsd:string
